I have given many talks and workshops to industry clients. Please see my main website for more details about these - and contact me there if you are interested in booking me for one. Some transcriptions and slides are available via the TED website.
These short films reveal more about the thinking and making behind the shirts. The TED animations - (written by me and the team, and animated by TED alumnus Ana Diaz of SokFok Studio) - give the overviews for Design for Cyclability and Design to Reduce Water and Energy Impacts. These are two of the key considerations for working with polyester shirts; the Black Hack Chat film is a demonstration of how to use a domestic iron to create a ‘fast refashioned’ shirt at home; the ReDress Miele challenge shows the process using a domestic iron with designers in Hong Kong; the Upcycling Textiles talking head film enables me to explain a little of the thinking; and Kay Politowicz's Professorial Platform lecture (introduced by me), called Design Lifetimes puts my shirts into the broader context of the lifecycle, alongside the work of my colleagues at TED and TFRC. The Taking Time short is a quick view of the shirts in the gallery space...
